Angel Oak Mortgage REIT is a real estate finance company focused on acquiring and investing in first lien non-qualified residential mortgage (non-QM) loans and other mortgage-related assets in the U.S. mortgage market. Co. makes credit-sensitive investments primarily in newly-originated first lien non-QM loans that are primarily made to non-QM loan borrowers and primarily sourced. Co. also invests in other residential mortgage loans, residential mortgage backed securities, and other mortgage-related assets. Further, Co. identifies and acquires its target assets through the secondary market when market conditions and asset prices are conducive to making purchases.
